About your presenters
Overview:
Greg began as a Managing Partner with Alumni Ventures in 2017, where he has helped lead more than 100 investments across a wide range of sectors. He is the Founder of Bascom Ventures and also manages Towerview Ventures, Alumni Ventures’ Duke-focused fund, the Foundation Fund, and the CIO Select Fund. His portfolio includes innovative companies such as Axiom Space, SHINE Medical, American Gene Technologies, Juvena Therapeutics, Centaur Health Holdings, Canela Media, and Matchwell.
At Alumni Ventures, Greg has been a generalist investor, but his passion lies in infrastructure—investing in the tools and platforms that will enable and support the next generation of transformative industries, particularly in energy. He is especially interested in how foundational technologies create ripple effects that unlock growth across healthcare, frontier tech, and industrial innovation.
Prior to joining Alumni Ventures, Greg built a successful career as a senior executive across the electrical products, packaging, and chemical industries, with expertise spanning corporate leadership, business development, startups, M&A, and strategic growth. He began his career as a Design Engineer at Texas Instruments before pursuing his MBA at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.

Keaton has spent his career focused on high-level teamwork. A proud Wisconsin Basketball alumnus, he started his career playing professional basketball in Europe. He played for and led teams in competitions across Europe, including stops in Germany, Spain, Latvia and Italy. When he returned from overseas, his career focus shifted to the entrepreneurial ecosystem. He has worked with both institutional and corporate venture teams and completed and MBA with a focus on entrepreneurship. He holds a BS in kinesiology from UW-Madison and an MBA from the Nicholas Center for Corporate Finance and Investment Banking from the Wisconsin School of Business.

Senior Associate, Towerview Ventures
Matt has seamlessly transitioned from the court to the world of business, leveraging his skills learned as a shooting guard for the Duke Blue Devils. A proud Duke Basketball alumnus, he was able to be a key contributor in helping the Duke Men’s basketball win the 2015 national championship game. Upon graduation, Matt enjoyed a brief professional basketball career with the Sacramento Kings affiliate team the Stockton Kings, and in Taiwan. With strong leadership and a competitive spirit, he has applied these qualities to his business endeavors working for a global commercial real estate firm, JLL, in the Bay Area, where he was a Landlord Representation Broker. Matt holds a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Cultural Anthropology from Duke University.
